Calling all Dromintee Club members! We’re excited to announce the ‘Kickstart the Heart’ Campaign, run in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast and led by our own Dr Stephen Doherty from Jonesborough. Even though many members are trained in Basic Life Support, a real emergency in a busy public space also needs good leadership, communication, teamwork, and calm crowd control. A skilled medical and nursing team from Queen’s University will guide us through a realistic ‘simulation’ so we can safely learn what to do.
The event takes place on Tuesday 17th February at 7pm at Dromintee Club. Around 15–20 people will take part, but we encourage everyone to come and watch—seeing the scenario unfold is a great way to learn skills that could one day help save a life. And of course, there’ll be tea and pancakes (it is Pancake Tuesday!).
As a community, let’s make sure we’re prepared for a medical emergency on our GAA grounds.
