Scór Sinsear Ard Mhacha

In Whitecross this evening, Kieran Larkin and Amy O’Hanlon represented Dromintee in Aithriseoireacht (Recitation). Both recited poems which were substantial in length and drew many laughs from the crowds.

Tara O’Hanlon sang ‘come on home to the County Down’ beautifully. A completely silent hall was mesmerised by her haunting voice.

Unfortunately, with the right competition, they were narrowly beaten and won’t progress to the Ulster Semi-Final stage.

We are grateful to Kieran, Tara, Amy and our quiz team for their participation this year and for representing our club so well.

In a change to the GAA calendar, Scór sinsear will return in February and Scór na nÓg will not take place until September 2024.

We are hoping to continue to compete in the quiz, recitation and solo singing completions. We nearly had a dancing team and an instrumental group and we just need a few more volunteers and hopefully change in calendar will allow others to get involved.
