Lissummon 0-13 Dromintee 1-10
Dromintee's Junior B campaign began on Sunday afternoon in the sunny surroundings of Lissummon and when all was said and done, it was a point apiece for both sides.
For the visitors it was a dissapointing outcome having led by three points at the break and four at the three-quarter mark, but the hosts came alive with a series of scores to not only level but move one ahead before a late Aidan Morgan free meant that it finished in a draw.
Dromintee started the quicker of the two sides and that was rubber-stamped with an early goal as Connor Phillips smuggled the ball home.
Lissummon were dangerous breaking through the middle but the likes of David Crilly and Donal McKenna helped force turnovers and Dromintee led by that goal at the break.
With Lissummon now shooting down the pitch, Dromintee needed to be calm in the third quarter and that they were as they managed to extend their lead as the sun started to drain energy resources.
The away side, managed by Kevin Toale, were in a match-winning position but Lissummon found a spark and rallied.
Mark O'Hare cleared a couple of dangerous balls and goalkeeper Steven Dyas pulled off a tremendous save low to his left, but the home side did hit a series of points to lead late on.
There was still time for Morgan to kick a free off the deck and secure a draw.
The side welcome Mullabrack to Dromintee next Sunday.
