DROMINTEE GAC CLUB AGM
The Dromintee GAC AGM took place on Wednesday 26th November when at a well-attended AGM.
Fr. Seamus White said the opening prayer for deceased members of Dromintee GAC and prayed that the new Committee would be well guided throughout 2026.
Sarak Kilgallon sung the National Anthem and Ray Harris, outgoing chairperson, welcomed members to the annual general meeting.
Declan Conlon read through a shorter version of his secretary report which had been circulated on ClubZap few days prior to the AGM which was aligned with the requirements of the GAA Official Guide. Declan encouraged members to take time to go through the secretary report as it included reports from all the subgroups and officers sitting on the Executive.
Next up was Ciaran Hughes who went through a comprehensive review of the income and expenditure for the club in 2025. The accounts showed up significant income from the Quid Games fundraiser and the extent of local sponsorship, club membership, lotto incomes for the year. The success of the club in securing grants was also highlighted and details of every aspect of the club was undertaken. The financial reserves of the club were in a healthy position and the Club was able to meet its day-to-day spending requirements but there were areas that required greater assistance and support and would be a focus for the incoming Executive in 2026.
Ray Harris in his concluding address presented an overview of where the club was at in 2025 and reviewed his tenure as chairperson over the last five years. Ray was standing down in line with the constitution and wished his successor well in the role. Ray was commended for his stewardship over these last five years and his tenure had brought about many improvements in the Club both from an infrastructural perspective but also an organisational and structural perspective.
Ray invited Mickey Larkin councillor to chair proceedings at this juncture to elect the incoming committee for 2026. Mickey spoke highly of the achievements of the club which was reflected within all the reports read out at the AGM and said it was such a terrific sight for him to see the floodlights and ball stops in operation on Pitch 3 on his return to the club this evening. He thanked Dromintee for the invite and wished all the incoming officers well for the year ahead.
