On Tuesday past our U14 boys travelled to Killeavy for the Armagh Division 1 Championship Quarter Final. These two teams are very familiar with each other, not only due to the locality and schools, but they played against each other in the league only one week previous. Dromintee victorious that night by just 2 points.

The league meeting was a tight affair, with both teams missing key players, so it was almost inevitable that the championship fixture would go the same way, and so it proved.

The match was played in atrocious conditions, with rain not seen since the Ulster Final in Clones!

Dromintee got off to a flyer in the first half and brought an intense work rate to their game. Seven different Dromintee players added to the scoreboard, including one well worked team goal.

The first half finished up Killeavy 0-3 to Dromintee 1-8.

The second half almost totally swung the other way, with Killeavy getting a goal and chipping away at the scoreboard. Dromintee failed to register a score in the second half, as they played into the wind, rain, and a re-engergised Killeavy team.

Dromintee hung on and showed great resilience, with a fantastic defensive display to win the game by a single point. Final score Killeavy 1-7, Dromintee 1-8.

Our Under 14 boys now progress to the Armagh Division 1 Championship Semi Final against Pearse Og this coming Tuesday.

Please come along and support the lads at home, Tuesday 26th at 7.15pm.
