A selection of our under 13 boys travelled to Cooley today for the Bammel Malone tournament. A huge affair with 40 teams from over 20 counties. The lads started the day brilliantly, topping their group by beating Monasterevin, Newtown Blue Drogheda, Geraldines Louth and St. Brigids Roscommon. A superb effort to top the group amongst such high quality opposition. Top place meant a place in the cup quarter final against Naomh Mearnóg (Portmarnock). Unfortunately it was a game too many for the lads, most of whom played in the U14 final just 3 days previous. Edit: Naomh Mearnóg ran out eventual winners, beating Ratoath of Meath in the final.
