A hectic fixtures programme is in store for the mens senior team when the new Armagh league kicks off on Friday July 31st.

The proposal from the Armagh county board will see a straight knock out championship and a reduced league programme for Division One teams.

While the plan has yet to be fully ratified the condensed season as a result of Covid 19 has seen a removal of the group stages that Armagh gaels have become familiar with in favour of the do or die straight knockout format.

Its understood that clubs will play three league games and then go into knock out championship. The clubs will then resume the league format for a further seven rounds including relegation playoffs.

It is proposed that the league games after the championship will be played without use of the county players who will be focused on Armagh's bid for promotion to Division One of the National league as well as the Ulster and All Ireland series.

The first league club game has been scheduled for Friday 31st July while round two will be played five days later on Wednesday August 5th and round three is down for decision on Sunday August 9th.

The first round of the Championship will be played across the weekend of August 16th, 17th with the final itself on either Saturday September 12th or Sunday September 13th.

The Armagh minor board have published a fixtures plan for clubs for consideration and all submissions were due to be sent back to the board by Friday June 19th.

The Ladies board have also asked clubs to reaffirm their participation across all grades ahead of drafting a new fixtures plan.

All fixtures once confirmed will be published on the Dromintee GAC app.
