Dromintee 2-06 Ballymacnab 0-9

Dromintee opened their Senior A League campaign with a 2-6 to 0-9 win in Ballymacnab tonight.

Played in treacherous conditions, the visitors saw a lot of ball in the first quarter but failed to do much with it while the 'Nab were more efficient at the other end.

Ryan Gaskin did get Dromintee off the mark with a point that curled just inside the post but the failure to convert two golden goal chances was dissapointing.

Shane McCoy converted a 45 from one of those missed chances and Dromintee went in level at the break, 0-4 to 0-4, despite having most of the possesion.

With the rain pouring down, the second half was a real war of attrition.

Nab lost a man to a second yellow only for Dromintee to lose Ryan Gaskin to a sin bin moments later.

The two key moments of the half came Dromintee's way though.

In the third quarter Aidan Morgan's free went all the way to the net and when Nab drew level late on, a brilliant team move saw Conor Martin raise a green flag to secure two valuable points.

Next up is Armagh Harps at home next Friday.
