Two late goals saw Dromintee grab their first win of the league campaign as they earned a 2-14 to 2-9 home win over Granemore.

It looked like it would be another frustrating afternoon for the injury-ravaged hosts, but Ryan Hughes offered a lifeline and Shea McArdle sealed the deal.

It was Granemore who started the better with Niall McAleenan's men cutting through with ease to goal in the first minute. A free extended their lead to four before Jack McArdle got Dromintee off the mark with a close-in free.

Granemore managed three of the next four scores, McArdle responding in between, before Hughes clipped over from a tight angle.

Another McArdle score was sandwiched between two brilliant Gareth Kilgallon efforts - but the visitors were matching them stride for stride with some fine scores of their own

Both sides were awarded soft frees just before the interval and Granemore led 1-7 to 0-7 at the break.

Cathal McKenna fisted Dromintee to within two before disaster struck at the other end as Granemore palmed home another goal after a super save from Dylan McGahon.

Dromintee's response was good, Kilgallon drilling over a 45, Conor Martin landing a free and Adam Markey coming forward to clip over with his left.

The sides exchanged a brace of points as Granemore held a two-point advantage heading into the final moments.

Dromintee needed something special and Hughes provided it as he won a ball he had no right to win, swivelled and blasted to the net.

Dromintee forced a turnover on the kickout and Conor Martin pointed before McArdle raced clear to seal the deal with a fine low finish.
