Our U15's bowed out at the All Ireland Semi Final stage of the Division 2 Cup on Saturday following some good performances in the early qualifying rounds which saw them win 2 of their 3 preliminary round games.
On reflection it was fine margins and a lack of the rub of the green that saw the lads fall short.
While we had a few player's carrying injuries, that didn't distract the lads from working hard for each other and when things weren't going their way the lads dug deep to counter attack and support each other.
This willingness and never-say-die attitude shown by this group is a testament to their success with over half the group now having Two County Feile Titles, a Div 3 All Ireland Title and competed in a Div 2 All Ireland Semi Final.
This group of players combined with last years All Ireland winning team have set a standard for the club to follow and with a little bit of luck we will have future teams competing at the same level.
How we progress over the next 3-4 years as a club is key to the future success of these players and lets not forget where this particular group started off back in 2017 when winning their first piece of silverware in a Shield competition at a Downpatrick blitz to now having competed at 2 National Feiles.
As we move forward the same work, difficult discussions, finanical support and self committment to the club is key to where we need to be in another 3-4 years down the road.
Club would like to thank all our sponsors who supported this years Feile team.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Colin and Paula O'Rourke of Topline Motors who sponsored the teams meal over the weekend, your on-going support is greatly appreciated, as is that of all our sponsors.
