SENIOR DIVISION 1 B
St. Peter’s 1:5
Dromintee 1:10
Dromintee senior men sealed a quick return to Division 1 A when they accounted for St. Peter’s at the Lurgan venue. Leading by six points to three at half time having played with the aid of a strong wind the Dromintee players turned in a really spirited second half performance to come out on top against opponents who still had aspirations of promotion themselves going into this game..
The second half performance was full of fight and endeavour as the away team took the game to the home team to outplay and outscore the home team and guarantee the visitors a speedy return to the top flight at senior level.
A second half goal by strong running Gareth Kilgallon was the score that had ignited the game and it came from a strong and aggressive fist from Darren Mc kenna to free Kilgallon who raced through to firmly plant a fine goal into the corner of St. Peter’s net.
Indeed the score difference should have been greater only for the concession of a late and fortunate penalty in the last five minutes which made the score line more respectable for St. Peter’s.
This was a great win for Kieran Quinn & his management team of Shane Lennon & Barry Mc Manus and to gain promotion with a game left to play will keep the lads focused for their final league game against Silverbridge who come to Dromintee on Friday 28th July with the eventual league winners still to be decided.
