Dromintee enjoyed a very fruitful night at the Armagh LGFA awards in the Carrickdale with pride of place going to Aoife McCoy who was the very deserving recipient of Armagh Senior Player of the Year.

The honour comes just weeks after her All Star nomination at national level and caps another brilliant year for the sharpshooter thus receiving due reward for her efforts and dedication.

Aoife had cause to visit the stage repeatedly firstly collecting the Senior Ladies shield for Dromahill and later presenting the Ulster runners up medals to the Armagh U14 squad from 2023 which included her niece Caitlin Carnegie as well as Sarah Murphy, Grace Conlon, Emma Toale and Lily McBennett.

Lily was the recipient of the Under 14 Player of the Year runner up award with the overall award going to Cassie Henderson from Clann Eireann.

Alanna O’Neill was also part of a very successful night as an integral part of the Ulster winning Under 16 squad. The club was also represented at minor level by Emma Murtagh, Grainne O’Rourke and Sarah Conlon and senior ladies by Aoife McCoy and Shauna Grey.

The strength in depth of girls football in the club was evident for all to see with the future looking bright build on solid foundations.

The Under 13 team also received their championship trophy presented on the night to Emma Toale.

Many of the girls are currently part of the trial process for the 2024 Armagh squads and we wish them all well.

Overall club of the Year went to Clann Eireann who won a remarkable six county titles at Underage level as well as the county and Ulster titles at senior level.
