As part of our healthy club initiative, tonight the club welcomed Caoileann Conway (performance dietitian) and Siofra O’Mullan (physiotherapist) to talk to our female players about the requirements of the “GAA female athlete”.
The girls covered some very interesting topics that included injury prevention, the importance of recovery, pelvic health, menstruation cycles, proper fuelling and nutrition.
The talk was well received by players, coaches and parents.
We hope everyone has learned something new tonight and has gained some valuable insight into how we need to train, eat and recover as female athletes.
We had an amazing turnout and thanks to the senior girls for providing refreshments during the break.
